The mods on this car are few, SLP exhaust, new steering wheel (uncle put that on, I plan on putting back the old one I think), some suspension work that was done before my time, I believe an SLP intake. I plan on keeping it completely stock for the most part. The main thing is to fix all the issues it currently has.

  1. Power steering, it keeps eating through power steering pumps. Three in one year and apparently this new one is whining. I have not figured out a fix.
  2. Wheels need to be refinished as they have corroded and look gross.
  3. Both front and rear bumpers have cracks in the paint. The bumper is fine but the paint is cracked, just needs new paint.
  4. Antenna doesn’t go down, common issue
  5. I believe that the trunk needs new carpet because someone left it open and I think it is mildew mess now.

This car looks like it sat outside whilst down at my uncle’s so I need to clean it. Here she is first day off the trailer.

Some background on me. I am a 20 year old IT guy out of Ft. Worth, TX. I currently drive a 1999 Silverado extended cab that has been 6.0 swapped with cam and heads and is currently undergoing a 4L80e swap. I have done all the work myself. I have plenty of tools and knowledge, just lacking a little experience and wisdom. Here is a photo of my truck.

Feel free to ask any questions and request any photos. I love this car to death and am not here to turn it into something it isn’t. I learned how to drive and parallel park in the Impala, even went to prom in it. It will stay stock on stock wheels for as long as possible. No 24s, no sound system, nada. For now it is about keeping the integrity of this car intact.

In the future I would like to LS swap it, just something more modern and with more support than the LT1. That is not on the radar at the moment but that is the goal.

Hello guys I have a 1996 Impala SS that I am working on restoring to it’s former glory. This was bought new in ’96 by my grandfather. It was entered in many an Impalafest and has won a couple. My uncle took it with him about 2 years ago to garage and fix but that did not happen so I brought it back home and am working on getting it completely nice again. The mods on this car are few, SLP exhaust, new steering wheel (uncle put that on, I plan on putting back the old one I think), some suspension work that was done before my time, I believe an SLP intake.
